A hub for perennial education and farm services in Illinois

Savanna Institute got its start in the low, fertile flatlands of central Illinois in 2013. Around a farm table, a volunteer group started building a network and a nonprofit organization to support perennial farmers in the region. We now manage three demonstration farms with partners in the state that host regular learning events. Savanna Institute’s Technical Service Providers in Illinois also help farmers plan diversified landscapes with perennial shrubs and tree crops. Our partners at Canopy Farm Management offer tree planting services and plant material to local landholders.
